In Stealth, Marco Grasso concentrates his investigation on a dimension of absolute control, constructing an image in which movement manifests in its most silent and calibrated form. The tiger, depicted frontally in forward motion, emerges from a neutral and rarefied background that amplifies its presence, asserting itself as a figure that traverses space with precision and intentionality. The composition is structured along a central axis that emphasizes the subject’s frontal orientation and direction: the gaze, fixed and penetrating, becomes the perceptual fulcrum, while the body, compact and perfectly balanced, suggests a slow and inexorable progression. The lines of the coat, articulated through the rhythm of the stripes, construct a visual pattern that guides the viewer’s gaze and reinforces the perception of restrained tension. The painting, highly controlled, conveys the complexity of the fur through a dense and layered materiality, in which tonal variations between ochres, blacks, and whites rigorously model the volumes.
