MARIO STEFANO
Mario Stefano (Naples, 1983) lives and works in Caserta.
His artistic practice mainly involves painting and collage, with an approach that integrates references from literature, photography, and art history.
After a non-academic education and many years of experience in business, since 2020 he has focused his activity continuously on artistic production, opening his own studio in Caserta. His works are the result of a layered process, in which images, signs, and materials coexist in a visual construction that privileges the physical relationship with the work.
A central element of his research is the relationship between work and enjoyment: the artist consciously limits the digital dissemination of his complete works, directing the viewer towards direct, in-person experience. This choice also influences the exhibition methods and dialogue with collectors and exhibition spaces.
Mario Stefano's work fits into the context of contemporary Italian painting, with a production that focuses on the time of observation, the material, and the value of the work as an autonomous object.
