Here the face wears away like a smoke cloud. It does not fade: it dissolves. Rella holds that suspended moment and fixes it on the surface, fusing the material of the face with that of the air. The figure is crossed by horizontal bands that destabilize it, as if the image were sliding out of alignment. The black accumulates at the center, compact, while the vertical drips fall downward, marking the time of the gesture. Above, lighter layers brush over and erase, like a memory that rewrites itself as it happens. The dialogue between horizontal and vertical generates a controlled tension: compression and fall coexist in the same space. The face remains perceivable, but held in a fragile threshold, between presence and dispersion. In Without Color, this work slows the rhythm: it is not fracture, it is erosion. Identity is not obscured. It is carried elsewhere, into a state of continuous transformation.
