In Untitled, Carlos Jorge constructs a modular composition that recalls the language of decorative tiles, transforming it into a rigorous and silent pictorial field. The work is organized as a grid of geometric and ornamental motifs, each autonomous yet part of a compact, measured whole. The colors move within a controlled range of greys, blacks, whites, and light blues, punctuated by accents of green that function as visual deviations small shifts within the order. Each module retains its own formal identity, but it is repetition that generates rhythm rather than decoration. The painting is crisp, devoid of overt expressive gesture: what emerges instead is a tension between precision and memory, between surface and structure. Untitled does not depict a specific place, but evokes many possible ones, entrusting geometry with the task of holding time in place, like a floor seen from above, laden with traces and silences.
