In SACRO AMORE 1, Gianpiero D'Alessandro revisits the traditional iconography of the Sacred Heart, reinterpreting it through his highly personal New Pop lens. The work emerges from an intense black background that enhances the bright and brilliant color fields: at the center stands a large magenta heart surmounted by vivid flames and encircled by a golden crown. On the right side, a visible embroidered blue patch breaks the perfect surface of the heart, while a luminous chalk outline envelops the figure, giving it life and three-dimensionality. D'Alessandro transforms a classic symbol of devotion into an icon of contemporary emotional resilience.
